Wanderlust In My Thirties

One of the most delightful perks of cruising into my thirties is the golden chance to travel more. And let me tell you, this is exactly what I intend to dive into headfirst. Despite my earlier years being somewhat light on global exploration, I'm now seizing every chance to jump on a plane headed to somewhere new. The thrill? Absolutely electric! That bubbling excitement in my stomach, whether I'm heading to the airport or stepping onto a flight, never gets old. Sure, packing can be a bit of a drag, but the moment I start rolling my luggage out the door, I'm on cloud nine.

So, why do I have this insatiable appetite for travel? There are a few reasons, but let's start with the joy of unraveling the history of a place. Coming from Asia, my grasp on other continents' histories was, let's just say, a tad limited. But the first time I stepped into Rome, catching sight of Vatican City and the Duomo in Florence, I was spellbound. And then there's the food - oh, the food! It's my firm belief that even if you don't speak a word of the local language, a plate of amazing food can bridge any gap, creating connections and sparking joy.

But it's not just about the sights and the gastronomy; it's the people and their cultures that truly enrich the experience. From the hustle and bustle of Seoul to the laid-back vibes of Italian life, every interaction offers a new perspective, a new way of looking at life.

Reflecting on the myriad places I've visited in recent years, I can honestly say my world has broadened in the most extraordinary ways. Travel has shown me alternative paths, different ways to live, and opened my heart to embrace various cultures and lifestyles. It's reignited my appreciation for the places I call home - Malaysia and Toronto. Sure, it's easy to point out their flaws, like Malaysia's struggle with resource management or Toronto's soaring food prices. Yet, these places boast incredible qualities: diverse cultures, the freedom to chase dreams, clean air, and so much more.

I'm eager to pack my bags again, not just for the sights or the food, but to learn and connect with people from all walks of life. I've met fascinating individuals from every corner of the globe, each encounter expanding my worldview and challenging me to think differently. The goal? To live life without borders, to remain open and curious, and to never find myself stuck in a silo of my own making.

Through travel, I've discovered not just the beauty of the world but the beauty within myself. It's a reminder that life is a magnificent journey, full of paths waiting to be explored, meals waiting to be savored, and laughter waiting to be shared. So, here's to the adventures that lie ahead - may they be as enriching and fulfilling as the roads I've already travelled.
